Ankles

Poor Moo Moo has a toddler cankle.  Just one so far but it is noticable (see pic below).  We were able to move her Iowa City appointment up one month so Dr. Hong could check out her ankle.  Since she was a little moodier than usual and starting to trip and fall, the nurse requested we take pictures.  So one night we took some photos and video of her running.  Shortly after I sent them, Dr. Hong called and talked to Ryan.  She could easily see the swelling in the left ankle but was concerned that there might be swelling in the mid foot area.  If that is the case, we might explore systemic treatment as that indicates deeper arthritic issues.  We considered this a big bummer as we had hoped to avoid full body treatment for a number of reasons.  But in the end, if this makes Maci more mobile (and in less pain) and is what the doctor recommends, we will do it.  Stay tuned....we will know more Wednesday afternoon!
