Tinkle

I put Kenna on the potty this morning and she tinkled!!! I'm 90% sure it was an accident because she looked confused as to what the sound was and kept wanting to look. I tried to explain to her that it was a good thing. Then Daddy came in and we all got really excited! And just so you can have a mental picture of all of this...Kenna was clutching a stuffed monkey in one hand and a powdered donut hole in the other...with no clothes on. Oh and one pig tail still in and the other one out. Overall we had a pretty good weekend on the potty so please keep your fingers crossed that it continues...

We are looking very forward to seeing the Irmiter's in Mason City this weekend for Christmas with my dad. Since it is snowing today and tomorrow, I'm hoping this weekend will be clear!

Potty Achievement!

Tonight we had a potty breakthrough! Kenna pooped in the potty for the first time!!! Ryan caught her in the act and I hustled her into the bathroom. After some chit chat and singing, Kenna took care of business. She had a little moment of panic. I'm not sure if it was because she was scared or because I was so excited and cheering loudly. Of course she felt compelled to check it all out and simply said "ewwwww!" We celebrated by enjoying quite a few m&ms. Let's hope this continues!!!

Productive Weekend

Ryan got the baby's room painted this weekend! Now we (meaning Ryan) just have some furniture assembling and rearranging to complete. Kenna seems to be sleeping better so we might attempt to turn her crib into a daybed. I have a feeling that will be a nightmare but better now than in 4 months when her sister arrives.

We started a new rule at our house this weekend. Every time we change Kenna's diaper we are going to sit on the potty for a bit. She seems okay with this for now. Sometimes we sing the Itsey Bitsy Spider and she likes that. She was soooo close to pooing on the potty Sunday! Instead she waited for a clean diaper. Oh well...I have to remind myself it's going to take awhile. Daddy needs to get on board with the program too. He told me Kenna woke up with a dry diaper on Sunday so I asked him if he sat her on the potty. Apparently the thought never crossed his mind!!!

The littlest Brooker seems to be a mover and a shaker, much like Kenna. I love feeling the baby move and can't wait until Kenna sits still long enough to feel it for herself. 127 days until she arrives!!!

18 Month Appointment

I was convinced our little monster had an ear infection or some sort of cold based on her recent crabbiness and sleep habits. Turns out she is perfectly healthy! Once again she put on quite the show for both doctors. Even Dr. Boonstra commented on how active she was in the short time we were there. She really liked the younger one and even waddled over to him and put her hand on his knee. Daddy said if she was going to flirt, it might as well be with doctors.

Kenna weighed in at 21 pounds 10 ounces. This concerned us so we asked Dr. Boonstra about it. He said since her height and weight were close on the scale, he wasn't too worried about it. But then in the next breath said he wanted us to bring her back in for a weight check in 2-3 weeks. For weight she is in the 19th percentile and for height, the 18th percentile.

Not much planned for the weekend. I'd really like to get the baby's room painted but that is difficult with our little helper around. Might be some late nights of painting! :)
