Diaper Rash

At Kenna's 15 month appointment, we got a prescription for what we thought was diaper rash. For some reason, the medicine never quite kicked the rash so we were able to get her in last night. Turns out that the diaper rash is really eczema. I have eczema myself and I know how itchy and painful it can be. I feel so bad for her! She's been a trooper though as usual. Hopefully the new cream takes care of it. Until then, we have to use wet paper towels on her bottom instead of wipes. That should be fun!

This morning she surprised her daddy by pulling herself up onto a kitchen chair. He didn't think she was strong enough but before we knew it, she was sitting up there with a big grin on her face!

It's official...

Well, it's official....Kenna will be a big sister on or around June 8th! Last week was our first doctors visit. For whatever reason, the doctor could not find a heartbeat and I instantly went into panic mode. Luckily we were able to get an immediate ultrasound and were able to see the little peanut moving around. And of course, got to hear the heartbeat!

Kenna has absolutely no clue how her life is about to change but the good thing is that she LOVES babies. Hopefully she'll love this one too and be able to share mommy and daddy. As of right now, my gut feeling says its a girl. I think it'd be great to have sisters but interesting to have a little Ryan too! Either way I'll be happy as long as the little person is healthy!

I've been holding out on making this announcement because I have not told my employer yet. So if you know anyone from my work, please keep this hush hush until next week! :)

Flirt, Flirt, Flirt

My daughter is a big flirt. It used to only be with the guys behind the meat counter at HyVee but she has expanded to all men in general now. We can't go anywhere without her telling someone hi and batting her eyes.

She has been up since 5:30am and has not stopped talking today. Constant chatter. It's part words, part gibberish. It was funny for awhile but now I'm exhausted because she demands that you pay attention to her!

Copy Cat

Ms. Kenna has become quite the copy cat lately. She loves to steal our cell phones and 'talk' on them so the other night I got her to say "Hi Grandma" (or her version of that). She says it about every 10th time I ask her to and of course when I called my mom, she wouldn't do it. She clams up when someone is actually on the other line but she will give the phone a kiss.

She is definitely a lover. She likes to give and receive hugs to everyone including stuffed animals and babies. It is a great feeling at daycare when she waddles over and gets so excited to see me. However, when we get home she is all about finding her daddy and making sure he gets a kiss.

Daddy will be hunting all weekend so it will just be Kenna and I. Should be interesting as we have a tendency to butt heads. :)
