6 Month Check Up

Today was the big 6 month check up. Ryan was out of town for work so he could not go with us. I think it really bothered him not to be there and we missed having him with us...especially to hold Kenna down for shots! :)

We had to wait longer than normal for the doctor and Kenna was quickly approaching crabbiness since she was due for a nap. When the doctor finally got there he gave Kenna the work over and found her to be perfect...just as we thought! Kenna even snuck him a few smiles.

I was concerned about a cough she has had on and off for a couple weeks. Luckily she coughed while the doctor was present so he could hear it. At first he didn't think it sounded too bad and told me to wait two weeks and if it wasn't better, bring her back in. Then she coughed a couple more times and he changed his mind and said he wanted her tested for whooping cough and something else that starts with a p.

So in addition to her 3 shots, oral vaccination and flu shot, they stuck one long q tip looking thing up each nostril for this test that takes 5 days to get the results. I really don't think its whooping cough because she has no fever and is happy but I guess we shall see.

Kenna tips the scales at 15 pounds 5.5 ounces which is about the 50th percentile. For height however, she is between the 10th and 25th percentile. She handled all the shots better than last time. There was still a silent screaming cry but she calmed down much quicker.
